The Tonewoods, a Sonoma county acoustic trio, play & sing a mix of
Americana, British, and classic folk, ragtime, etc. They love songs that
tell stories. Members are: Steve Gomes, vocals, guitar, mandolin;
Jennie Nourse, vocals, mandolin, accordion, percussion; and Patrick
Mullin, vocals, guitar, bouzouki, harmonica.
Their music has been described as vibrant, fun, rhythmic,
soulful, with rich harmonies, and touches of humor here and there.
Favorite songwriters include Richard Thompson, Tom Waits,
Tom Russell, Townes van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, Greg
Brown, Gillian Welch, and Patty Griffin.
The Tonewoods have been entertaining Sonoma County for
over seven years and have played at Murphy’s Irish Pub in Sonoma;
Aubergine in Sebastopol; A'Roma Roasters, Gaia's Garden, Black Rose
Irish Pub and Café Azul in Santa Rosa; Aqus Cafe in Petaluma; Art in the
Redwoods Festival in Gualala; Apple Blossom Festival in Sebastopol;
Gualala Fine Arts Fair; radio & television broadcasts, and private
parties/events.
