The Shots String Band

The Shots String Band plays songs & tunes that cover a wide range of traditions: Old-Time Appalachian, Bluegrass, Country & Cajun songs & tunes alongside Irish & Scottish material.  Their set also includes songs by Dylan, Cash, Elvis, The Beatles, The Kinks, Leadbelly, The Holy Modal Rounders, Gene Pitney & others. 

Barry Mullis & Priscilla Boyle formed The Shots when they moved to San Francisco in 2002. She’s English and he’s Irish. With Mullis on vocals guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica & bodhran and Boyle on harmony vocals & Stand up bass, Alison Bailey Streich on Fiddle, Aaron Balano on Dobro Guitar & Otis Mullis on Electric  & Acoustic Guitars, Ukulele & Triangle, the band blends many musical genres and serves them up with original compositions that are on a par with any of their covers.

They have performed at venues all over the Bay Area including San Francisco's Bimbo's 365 Club and The Great American Music Hall, The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, The Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, Rancho Nicasio & McNear’s Mystic Theater in Petaluma. They’ve performed live on KFog’s Morning Show, KALW’s West Coast Live, KPIG SF and KWMR in Point Reyes Station.

The Shots  have played many wine country weddings and events including events at Rams Gate, Black Stallion, Beaulieu, Robert Craig, Stewart Cellars & Whetstone. They have also played many Silicon Valley corporate events for the likes of Google, Oracle, Credit Karma, 23 & Me, Yahoo and Facebook.
