The Blues Bottle Band

Bob Evitt

Guitar & Vocals

Bob was born in Indiana. He and his brother Gary started playing guitar at a young age after moving to California with their family. Growing up, his influences were The Beatles, Elvis, and The Animals. He and his brother Gary started playing in several Rock and Roll bands such as The Misfits and The Mystical Sounds.
In 1967, Bob and his brother Gary changed the band name to The Blues Bottle Band which performed only one gig due to Gary’s untimely death. The band never performed again.
Bob later played with Peter Green and Childhood End which won a Battle of the Bands award.
After putting his guitar away for about 30 years to raise a family, Bob started playing again. He played with The Cantrell Brothers Band, The Just Six and a Beatles Tribute Band (Fab Fever).
In 2006 when Bob started a new band it needed a name. The only name that was in his heart was The Blues Bottle Band. Dedicated to his brother Gary. The band has been together since 2006 and has gone on to perform at many Festivals, Wineries, Breweries, Car Shows, Yacht Clubs, Lodges, and Private Events and looks forward to many more years of performing!

Dave Chimpky

Lead Guitar

Dave became interested in music while listening to the Beatles and various local bands. He and his neighborhood friends taught each other how to play music and later formed the Knight Riders Band. Bob and Dave later helped form the band Childhoods End and they went on to win 1st place at the Pacific High Invitational Battle of the Bands in 1967 in San Leandro CA.

Dave helped form the band Marshall Rose, which went on to win 1st place at the Teenage Battle of the Bands at Chabot College in Hayward CA in 1973. He has played throughout Northern CA for over 40 years.

His influences are (to name a few) Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Allman Bros., BB and Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Carlos Santana.

Dave has been known to catch lead fever. Once you have heard his searing solos you too may catch the fever. He recently retired from the Carpenters Union and now has more time to spend playing music and spreading the fever.

Tom Peplinski

Drums & Vocals

Like the rest of The Blues Bottle Band members, Tom has been playing since the 60’s.

Tom hails from the frigid Northern state of Minnesota and escaped to the Bay Area where he has played as a contract drummer since 2001.

Tom has played on a whole lot of California stages and festivals which include Biscuit and Blues, The Boom, Boom Room, Delta Blues Festival, Venice Beach Festival and Multiple County Fairs along with intimate small gigs.

As Tom puts it “Playing the drums is just plain fun and setting in with The Blues Bottle Band allows me the opportunity to play a variety of music with a fun bunch of guys.”
