Smokehouse Gamblers

From the western hills of Petaluma, in the cold and dark Cactus Garden Studio, the Smokehouse Gamblers emerged early in January 2005, loaded with bass, drums, rhythm and lead guitars.

The four-piece band of brothers mix original material thick with creosote rock 'n' roll and clean alternative pop shine. Threatening skies and low lying fog, dry-hopped like an oak barrel filled to the brim with good craft beer, the temptation leads to toe-tapping original songs spanning rock, ska, indie-folk and blues.

Listen for the likes of the Stones, Ween, early Wilco or the Band. Add a little '60s garage mixed with Dylanesque folk and you'll be on the road to ruin. The Smokehouse Gamblers are Ted Baggett, lead vocals, guitar, harp and keys; Matt O' Shea, bass and backing vocals; Jeremy French, lead guitar and wizardry and Jim Jacobs, percussion.

The band has released two independent albums available on cdbaby and itunes (and a third called "War Comes in Roses" currently in production.) The Smokehouse Gamblers have played numerous benefits throughout the North Bay, have toured throughout California and Oregon and recently played with the Mother Hips and the Avett Brothers. You can hear Smokehouse on KRSH in Santa Rosa.
