With his roots in soul, Sonoma, CA based singer/songwriter Rick Hardin showcases his powerhouse vocals and inventive songwriting with first full length album “The Weather” produced by Grammy award-winner Bonnie Hayes. His richly cinematic songs portray Rick’s life as an artist with the ups and downs, expectations, and the disappointed feelings when things don't work out the way you hope.
“It's also about the joy of living in such a place where there's so much opportunity. I was raised really believing I could be or do anything I wanted. I co-wrote a few songs on the album with Bonnie Hayes, and I wrote with Scott Lipsitz, but most of the songs I wrote myself. Basically, if you have a dream that you're procrastinating on, this album is for you. There's a track called “Silver Tongue” that speaks to the fact that I have the ability to talk myself into anything. Or out of anything. The song “The Weather” really encapsulates the whole album” says Rick.
Hardin performs his soulful songs as the Rick Hardin Band as well as vocalist for the band SaltWater Jam with guitarist Ron Romero and producer Jerry Stucker. Their sound is a mix of slack key guitar with a twist of funk that reflects many genres. Their latest project just released was started at Capitol Studios in Hollywood with Al Schmidt. "Our producer, Jerry Stucker, and Ron really put some special music together, I'm proud to be included in the writing and performing”.
Rick has had the pleasure to perform at Sweetwater Music Hall, the Fillmore’s Poster Room, KFOG Morning Show, Cafe’ Du Nord, Mystic Theater opening for Sons of Champlin, HopMonk Tavern, The Hyde Street Festival, Bottom of the Hill, and the Whisky a Go Go opening for Mark Ford.
