Todd Bugbee (The Melt, Flytrap) brings his funk guitar with Mingo Lewis Jr. (The Bloodstones, Groundation) on percussion, Ben Burleigh (Frobeck, Big Fit) on bass and Paul Spina (Groundation, P-Butter) on drums. Energy, danceable beats and experimental funk grooves bringing feet to the floor from the first note. This is an instrumental funk and groove music celebration. Phony Abalone pays homage to their influences and add a variety of musical tastes into a melting pot. Primarily influenced by the mid 70's - George Duke Band, The Meters, James Brown, John Scofield, Grant Green and Herbie Hancock to name just a few.
