Pacific Vibration

Pacific Vibration is a soulful reggae band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band plays a mix of original, rootsy, California/Island style reggae with touches of world, soul, funk, and rock. The band is fronted by Kerry Wing, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, and Randy Nakamura, a Hawaiian born singer-songwriter and Ukulele player. Their music always gets the crowd moving. It is upbeat yet conscious with "lyrics that are aimed to make a change in the world”, according to Chuck Foster of The Beat Magazine. They perform as a full band with 6-8 pieces, and as an acoustic duo or trio for certain occasions.

In 2014 Pacific Vibration released the album Irie Feeling on their own label, Drala Music. Three songs off the ten track album made CD Baby's Top 10 Reggae Singles for the first two months of it's release. The album has been played on radio stations locally and internationally. Their song, Everyday Angel, was on the Bay Area's commercial radio station, KFOG 104.5FM, and was featured on their Local Scene 11 compilation album.

Kerry Wing has performed Pacific Vibration's music across the US and internationally in India, Europe, Africa, Central America, and South America. The band has played at many venues and festivals such as Slim's, Yoshi's, The Catalyst, Club Fox, The Biltmore, Reggae In The Park SF, UC Davis' Whole Earth Festival, Monterey Bay Reggae Fest, and Mt Shasta World Music Fest. In 2003, Pacific Vibration met and became friends with Mikey Dread (reggae singer/producer who also worked with The Clash). The band went on to open up for Mikey Dread at many shows up until his passing.

Pacific Vibration has shared the stage with many artists including: Steel Pulse, Big Mountain, Anthony B, Fiji, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Long Beach Short Bus (members of Sublime), The Expendables, The Coasters, Eek A Mouse, Luciano, and Burning Spear.
