Marshall House Project

Marshall House Project is a driving soul-funk outfit with one foot rooted in the deep pockets of the past and the other fearlessly exploring the deep fry of the future. The sound is an electric eclectic love-child: the product of an affair between Jimi Hendrix and the Funky Meters, after a long night of drinking with space aliens, and jamming to Bob on the jukebox. MHP delivers a mash-up of energetic funk and slinky soul with a psychedelic twist and a chili salt rim. The mission: to create an uplifting dance experience, spun full of twists and turns, interlaced with conscious reflective lyrics, expanding, contracting and alive like a universe unto itself.

The band began as a project. In a house. On Marshall Dr. After years of jams and evolution, the lineup slowly began crystallizing circa 2012 into its current state. The founder, guitarist and primary songwriter is Sam Hamby. He has been there since the beginning, and his name is synonymous with greasy guitar mastery. Sami writes with a message in mind, and is generous when it comes to sizzling solos, skanky rhythms and blowing minds. On the drums is Matty Tucker. He is powerful and dextrous behind the kit and serves up a plethora of cutty beats, laced with serpentine breaks and multidimensional sensibilities. Bass guitar is held down tight by Kevin Cole. He is consistently carving out deep grooves and envelope popping bass-lines; guaranteed to get the floor quakin' and the booty shakin'.

Marshall House Project is one of the premier bands working in and around Sonoma County, and is steadily gaining momentum, earning fans and extending its reach. The group is constantly expanding their repertoire, and honing their craft in order to cultivate a fresh, quality show every time they take the stage. Simply put, Marshall House Project is a real treat to experience.
