Lorin Rowan-Grammy singer/songwriter,multi-instrumentalist, tv &
film scorer, recorded and toured internationally with his brothers’
Peter & Chris as The Rowan Brothers as well as solo. Co-founder of
the SF Bay Area rock/reggae band “The Edge” and his acoustic trio
“Rattlebox”. Currently, with Lorin on lead vocals and mandolin/guitar,he
is joined by his co-founder and co-writer Kirk Casey on guitar/vocals
in their Deep Blue Jam band; mandolin/guitar based
Americana/Roots/Rock/Funk fusion with fellow band members, Eric
McCann/bass (Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Clarence Clemons/, Matt
Willis/drums (Dan Hicks, The Drifters, The Shirelles) & Kenneth
Nash/percussion, all of whom have played with a wide variety of virtuoso
musicians from Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Phil Lesh, Steve
Miller, David Grisman, The Beach Boys, Kenny Loggins, Jerry
Garcia, Little Feat, Levon Helm, Bill Kreutzman, Jim Keltner,
Steve Cropper, Clarence Clemmons, Bonnie Raitt, The Drifters to name
a few.
Lorin’s songs have been recorded by major artists including the title track of country artist Ricky’s Skaggs’ Grammy winning CD ‘Soldier of the Cross’ and the Jefferson Airplane/Starship’s “Gold’ sung by Marty Balin.
