Born in San Jose, CA and living most of his life in the Santa Cruz mountains, George listened to KFAT (now KPIG) and was influenced by blues, rock and early American roots music. He started performing music in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1980’s, assembling a large group of regional and national touring musicians who learned from his 200+ original compositions that highlight the individual strengths and talents of each musician. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, he played numerous shows with Al Rapone and performed with Rockin Sydney as well, giving him the opportunity to hone his guitar skills and experience life on the road with other musicians with amazing resumes (including musicians who have played with BB King, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Queen Ida, Quicksilver Messenger Service to name a few). George’s band has opened for acts like Foghat, Spirit, Robin Trower, Johnny Winter, Rick Derrenger, Elvin Bishop, and many more. Throughout the years his band has included such artists as Paul Bautista, Stacey Kay, Jeff Sterling, Little John Chrisley, Dave Tucker, Fuzzy John Oxendine, Steve Long, Eric Bolvin, James Foster, Andy Just, and Jane Fossgren.
